walk away

Resolutions- to blog more often

(Been busy.... my Christmas experience was about cleaning and
keeping a audit on the fridge contents- oh and setting washing machine schedules for the
masses. ( there is a strict criteria, based on residency rights, attendance, age, employment status)

So am I still going on about walking? YES YES
as you can see from my website I now have an arts council grant to extend my own work
and stepdata is a part of that-

been doing loads of research and its gone pedometer mad- the Counrty Side Agency are running pedometers programmes, all sorts of initiatives all aimed at getting us more active. This is NOT my aim, all I want is your STEPDATA over two weeks done during your working day (if you want to increase your activity after that I can forward you encouragement sheets for that too…or send you some links) Anyway my research is more to do with employment and how we work, the working culture, demands on our day. As the fag breaks have gone or are under treat or not really relevant to you, can we demand walk breaks? just a thought, but how can I get those extra steps in when I have all that other stuff to do when I’m not working (back to the fridge thing)
Anyway I now have the pedometers and packs all printed, (looking good- they will be part of a publication - don't be concerned anonymity is ok)
SO PLEASE send me email marked web contact- or pedometer request if you can
or I’ll think its junk……. Also if anyone up for talking about it…. post a comment

run off your feet?

Hi so you're all run off your feet?

STEP DATA is an ongoing project, seeking YOU. its a bit of fun
but has a more serious side, are you making the minimum 10000 steps a day?
- how do feel if you consistently fail/ achieve the governments targets for lifestyle issues?

So how can you be involved in stepdata? Blogging, data collection, Information, thoughts and images
including photos of your feet (in shoes or not).
Contributions collected under the stepdata project will form an artwork and publciation.

If you want to be part of this work, please post a comment and email me via my website
but DO put STEP DATA in the heading or I'll thinlk its a scam! I'll be sending 26 people
with different jobtitles a pedometer and a data record sheet. But please only ask for this
if you're prepared to give me a weeks worth of info or I'll end up totally broke!

artist seeks steps

So your at work? Active or sedentary?
I'm investigating....
we're told to walk a minimum of 10,000 steps
a day, so if you sleep for 8 hours (I need to check this out- recommended
number of hours of sleep, so if you know....)
Anyway, if you do that works out at an average of 625 steps to take
every waking hour- sounds Ok, but if you sit on your bum for a couple
of hours in the evening, maybe a few during the day then
the pressures on for the rest of the day....

HELP .... I'm running an artist led project, STEP DATA
I'm looking for 26 people with different job titles, one for
each letter of the alphabet, e.g A is for artist, B is for...

each participant will be given a step data recording sheet. To work
out an average number of steps this can be done over a week. or month.
I'd also need a photo, to create a graphic,
If you're up for it please visit my website for more details
( it should be on there soon) The data will form part of an artwork.

we all do it if we can
